Writing A Serial Killer
Writing a serial killer takes moxie and guts. ( And a bit nuts) However they are mere mortal men sitting in a cell and more in likely will die there. It isnt a science, its just communication. Because of my past experience with the criminal justice system, I know how to talk the talk and walk the walk.
A few women asked me if I thought these guys would write them, maybe but more in likely not. Serial killers hate women believe it or not, duh. If you do write one they will often eventually get them to send money and all that. Desperate and lonely women will often write a guy in prison because that is the only attention they get in their life. Remember, these guys murdered women, cut them up, strangled them, tortured them.
I get into their minds like I did when I did time with them. I get to know about their personal life, how they were raised and where they grew up. Then I talk serious with them, stuff I cant mention here because there are those that will try to use my methods. Again, it's not rocket science, but it is what I call an "art" to communicating with them.
I have to remember to not let it get to me. I get into their minds and their thoughts as I write them and they do the same. Both can be manipulated. I try not to get caught up in the hate and evil that is there. Believe me, there is a lot of evil there and risk as well.
Every one of us has the potential to become a serial killer and murderer. These guys just snap and let the animal we call man take over. At their weakest moment, they turn into monsters to satisfy that craving for satisfaction and attention they want so badly.
Some of these guys grew up in normal households, one you wouldnt think would turn into a monster. Then there are those who were abused badly throughout their lives, whether as a child or an adult. Abuse can be mental or physical whether by a woman or a man. The two ladies I was intimately involved with were Peggy Jean Keener "The Black Widow Of Friendswood" and Ana Trujillo The Stiletto Killer. Both were abused physically and emotionally in their lives. Not saying that is an excuse for what they did. But just putting it out there that any one of us can someday just snap and just let that anger and hate come out and take it out on the the weakest person in their lives.
I write some of these guys to solve cold cases. To extract information from them. I tell them I do not judge them which I dont. I tell them I dont care why or the reasons behind the killing. I merely want to know where the victims are and thats it. You wouldnt believe the information I get from them, hints and clues they will write. You have to know where to read between the lines in each letter because as they write,, their moods change, first comes the evil then the regret and the hate. You have to kind of decipher the letter and as I write them back and tell them I understand, they are more open in the letters afterwards. That is one of the secrets to writing a serial killer or murderer in prison. Remember, these guys know they are never getting out, they have nothing to lose. I am their "safe zone" or "neutral zone" and I befriend them. I have learned quite a bit from them. And learning more......
